David was one of my closest friends and the person who taught me 'life is not a race' and that 'my timing was lousy.' He shared many naval stories and it was a pleasure to listen. He taught me how to sail and that silence could be more powerful than words. A true gentleman and so dedicated to the work he did for the community. No words can explain how much I miss him and I will treasure the friendship we had. My love and thoughts go out to Sue, Fiona and Jo. RIP my special friend. xxx
